This exhibition is a recontextualization of modern lines, in modern art and modern architecture, towards making abstract landscapes with architecture.Thinking of Frank Llyod Wright, Gerrit Rietveld, Theo van Doesburg, Le Courbusier, and lines in Modern Early Twentieth architecture, including Modernist painting, like Mondrian, I created this series of lines flowing in a type of geometric pattern of horizontal and vertical waves, like in nature, and nature having a conversation with architecture. Adding primary and secondary colors, with a white background gives the work an added layer of echoing a fashion design, like Louis Vuitton or Dolce and Gabbana, hand bag or blouse. The lines also have a partial reference to a broken grid or maze.
With this series, I will make small drawings 9 in x 12 in, scan the drawings, and then enlarge them to very large giclee prints, 48 in x 60 in. Also, these studies will be repainted as 8 feet x 12 feet canvas acrylic or oil paintings. All works are Studies In Process and will change in reprinting.
